- 03 Mar 10
charity-webinar-still-time-to-register.html">Twitter_512x512.png" width="54" height="54" />My first Twitter Social Media Charity Webinar will be held on March the 9th starting at 10:30am GMT, I have designed the webinar session to be low cost only £16.02 and together we will explore Twitter and you can ask what ever questions you may have.
We will be getting practical to show you how to get the best from Twitter and not just why to do things.
To mark my first webinar I will be giving away £20 of Twitter Advertising and a campaign assisted by me, a great opportunity to reach out to Twitter users and let them know about your services or organisation.
You can register here and if you can't make the March session I will be running it again in April.
Apple's NEW iPhone Policy SCREWS Charity / Non-profits
- 25 Feb 10
So the BullyingUK app version 3 has been rejected, you remember version 2 was rejected because Apple ban donation buttons from their apps they want us to give them a 30% cut... well get this NEW policy time from Apple and this one is the biggest STUFF U's to Non-profit I have ever witnessed by a corporation.
Now Apple says you must include content from multiple sources in your iPhone apps, so that means any advice charity will have to include information from other sources not just their own websites RSS if your using sites like APPMakr, all though this new policy seems to be across the board even if your having a bespoke app built.
Apple Donation Button Campaign gets coverage #AppleDonateFail
- 10 Feb 10
The Civil Society have picked up on my calls for Apple to consider letting charities have direct donation buttons in their apps or passing along 100% of the app fee to the charity / non-profit.
Time as they say can bring perspective and I know many people support the campaign but also think Apple won't change it's policy, maybe they are right but if you don't ask you don't get problem is with big companies you tend to need a big voice or lots of little voices all shouting as one to get noticed.
Donations from your iPhone app Forget it say Apple #appledonatefail
- 02 Feb 10
Bullying UK recently released version 1 of it's iPhone app to much applause from many people, I got to work on a version 2 using the excellent AppMakr I figured for the next version I would add a donation button and a nice bit of copy to ask for a donation.
I submitted the app and waited, some time later the app was rejected by AppMakr and I have just been told why. Apparently Apple won't allow you to include a donation button in applications.
I have created a #AppleDonateFail Poll so please take the time to read this article and vote on the poll.
The Top AddThis Sharing Services by country
- 27 Jan 10
AddThis the Social Bookmarking service have added a really neat feature that shows you the most popular services users share to using the AddThis widget.
The data is useful because it will allow you to fine tune your first 10 share options on your addthis button or addthis bar, not much point in offering a share service up front that users in your country have little interest in.
