Huge news out of Twitter they are going to be changing the number of requests you can make per hour from external services, you may not know this but currently each user can only make 150 requests per hour, developers 20,000 as Twitter has grown this has become a bit of a problem for developers and users a like.
The more time a user spends on Twitter in an hour the more likely they are to hit the Rate limit and have to wait till the hours up before they can send or recieve tweets.
So Twitter plans to increase the Api Rate limit to 10x what it is today each user will get 1500 requests per hour and developers will be given full access to Twitter's Firehouse.{jb_bluebox}This is going to herald a new generation of Twitter applications and seriously speed services up. For charities you can expect to see some very exciting new application and services built on top of Twitters new limits.{/jb_bluebox}Although I struggle to call this a limit it's hard to see how a user could exceed 1500 calls in 1 hours but I bet someone will manage it :-)
