Say goodbye to another URL shortening service, this time Cli.gs will be shutting down at the end of October although existing links should still work as they are a member of the 301Works Alliance that works to preserve short urls from no longer operational services.

Cli.gs passing is a sad day for URL shortening as I think it had one of the better stat systems running behind it, for instance it separates bots from human clicks something Bit.ly seems shy to do.

If you are still a Cli.gs user now would be the time to switch to a new service, Bit.ly is great but you might also like to try Su.pr from the creators of StumbleUpon.
