The Independant has a really great write up on the current Hitwise metrics showing Twitters incredible growth in the UK. Right now Twitter is growing faster than any other website in the UK.

Traffic to Twitter has risen 22 fold over the last year and Hitwise now ranks Twitter as the 38th most visited website in the UK, bearing in mind that Twitter.com's traiffc is dwarfed by the user of Tweetdeck, Seesmic desktop and other Twitter addon services and it's easy to imagine Twitter is really in the top 20 or even top 10 of UK sites right now.
